וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שָׁא֣וּל פֻּ֣צוּ בָעָ֡ם וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֣ם לָהֶ֡ם הַגִּ֣ישׁוּ אֵלַי֩ אִ֨ישׁ שׁוֹר֜וֹ וְאִ֣ישׁ שְׂיֵ֗הוּ וּשְׁחַטְתֶּ֤ם בָּזֶה֙ וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֔ם וְלֹֽא־תֶחֶטְא֥וּ לַֽיהוָ֖ה לֶאֱכֹ֣ל אֶל־הַדָּ֑ם וַיַּגִּ֨שׁוּ כָל־הָעָ֜ם אִ֣ישׁ שׁוֹר֧וֹ בְיָד֛וֹ הַלַּ֖יְלָה וַיִּשְׁחֲטוּ־שָֽׁם׃
Und Saul sprach: 'Zerstreue dich unter den Menschen und sprich zu ihnen: Bring mich her, jeder Mann, sein Ochse, und jeder Mann, seine Schafe, und töte sie hier und iss; und sündige nicht gegen den HERRN, wenn du mit dem Blut isst.' Und das ganze Volk brachte in dieser Nacht jedem seinen Ochsen mit und tötete sie dort.
