Parashat Ki Tisa – Weekly Torah Portion

Parashat Ki Tisa tells the dramatic story of the aftermath of the revelation at Sinai. The portion begins with census instructions and the giving of special commandments to the Israelites, introduces Bezalel and Oholiab as artisans for the Tabernacle, and moves into the tragic episode of the Golden Calf. After Moses' intercession, the relationship between God and Israel is tested, repaired, and celebrated through forgiveness, new Tablets, and renewed covenant.
