וַיָּקֻ֨מוּ כָל־הָעָ֜ם מִקָּטֹ֤ן וְעַד־גָּדוֹל֙ וְשָׂרֵ֣י הַחֲיָלִ֔ים וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ מִצְרָ֑יִם כִּ֥י יָרְא֖וּ מִפְּנֵ֥י כַשְׂדִּֽים׃ (פ)

And all the people, both small and great, and the captains of the forces, arose, and came to Egypt; for they were afraid of the Chaldeans.

מוראכם, von ירא .ירא ist eine geistige Tätigkeit, die sich die Größe und die Macht auch des Abwesenden gegenwärtig vorstellt; daher auch: scheu vor dieser Macht zurücktreten, ihr aus dem Wege gehen. So כי יראו מפני הכשרים" Kön. II, 25, 26.
