Awaken, awaken This is the prophet’s prayer.

עורי Awake. The accent is on the last syllable; there are many instances of this exception.⁹According to the rules of accentuation in Hebrew, the accent should be on the first syllable. See I. E. on 3:26, note 25.

Rahab [lit. pride.] Egypt, about whom it is written (supra 30:7): “They are haughty (רַהַב), idlers.”
