וַיָּב֗וֹא וְהִנֵּ֣ה עֵ֠לִי יֹשֵׁ֨ב עַֽל־הַכִּסֵּ֜א יך [יַ֥ד] דֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ מְצַפֶּ֔ה כִּֽי־הָיָ֤ה לִבּוֹ֙ חָרֵ֔ד עַ֖ל אֲר֣וֹן הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וְהָאִ֗ישׁ בָּ֚א לְהַגִּ֣יד בָּעִ֔יר וַתִּזְעַ֖ק כָּל־הָעִֽיר׃
Ketika ia tiba, ternyata Eli sedang duduk di atas kursinya di tepi jalan sambil menanti-nanti, sebab hatinya gemetar karena tabut Allah. Ketika orang itu masuk ke kota untuk mengabarkan hal itu, berteriaklah seluruh kota.
