וַיִּשְׁלְח֨וּ וַיַּאַסְפ֜וּ אֶת־כָּל־סַרְנֵ֣י פְלִשְׁתִּ֗ים וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ שַׁלְּח֞וּ אֶת־אֲר֨וֹן אֱלֹהֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְיָשֹׁ֣ב לִמְקֹמ֔וֹ וְלֹֽא־יָמִ֥ית אֹתִ֖י וְאֶת־עַמִּ֑י כִּֽי־הָיְתָ֤ה מְהֽוּמַת־מָ֙וֶת֙ בְּכָל־הָעִ֔יר כָּבְדָ֥ה מְאֹ֛ד יַ֥ד הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים שָֽׁם׃
Lalu mereka mengirim utusan dan mengumpulkan semua raja kota orang Filistin. Mereka berkata, “Kirimlah tabut Allah Israel itu pergi, biarlah ia kembali ke tempatnya sendiri, supaya ia tidak membunuh aku dan rakyatku.” Sebab kegemparan maut telah melanda seluruh kota itu; tangan Allah sangat berat menekan di sana.
