וְאֶת־בַּת־פַּרְעֹ֗ה הֶעֱלָ֤ה שְׁלֹמֹה֙ מֵעִ֣יר דָּוִ֔יד לַבַּ֖יִת אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּֽנָה־לָ֑הּ כִּ֣י אָמַ֗ר לֹא־תֵשֵׁ֨ב אִשָּׁ֥ה לִי֙ בְּבֵית֙ דָּוִ֣יד מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כִּי־קֹ֣דֶשׁ הֵ֔מָּה אֲשֶׁר־בָּֽאָ֥ה אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם אֲר֥וֹן יְהוָֽה׃ (פ)
Salomo memindahkan putri Firaun dari Kota Daud ke istana yang telah dibangunnya untuk dia, sebab katanya: “Istriku tidak boleh tinggal di istana Daud, raja Israel, karena tempat-tempat yang telah dimasuki tabut Yang Mahakekal itu kudus.”

Came up from the city of Dovid, etc. In Divrei Hayomim it explains, “for he said, ‘I should not have a wife live with me in [the City of] Dovid because they are holy [places], for the Ark of Adonoy was brought there.’”19II Divrei Hayomim 8:11. The text there reads, “in the house of Dovid.”
