מִן־הַיּ֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר הוֹצֵ֜אתִי אֶת־עַמִּ֣י אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ מִמִּצְרַיִם֒ לֹֽא־בָחַ֣רְתִּי בְעִ֗יר מִכֹּל֙ שִׁבְטֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לִבְנ֣וֹת בַּ֔יִת לִהְי֥וֹת שְׁמִ֖י שָׁ֑ם וָאֶבְחַ֣ר בְּדָוִ֔ד לִֽהְי֖וֹת עַל־עַמִּ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
‘Sejak hari Aku membawa umat-Ku, Israel, keluar dari Mesir, Aku tidak pernah memilih sebuah kota pun dari antara semua suku Israel untuk membangun sebuah rumah di sana, supaya nama-Ku ada di sana; tetapi Aku memilih Daud untuk memerintah umat-Ku, Israel.’
