וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֶֽל־נַעֲר֗וֹ עֲלֵֽה־נָא֙ הַבֵּ֣ט דֶּֽרֶךְ־יָ֔ם וַיַּ֙עַל֙ וַיַּבֵּ֔ט וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אֵ֣ין מְא֑וּמָה וַיֹּ֕אמֶר שֻׁ֖ב שֶׁ֥בַע פְּעָמִֽים׃

E disse al suo servo: 'Sali ora, guarda verso il mare.' E salì, guardò e disse: 'Non c'è niente.' E lui ha detto: 'Torna ancora sette volte.'

To the sea. If you see a cloud rising from the sea.²⁹The Mediterranean Sea is near Mount Carmel. Alternatively, דרך ים means westward.—Targum
