וְלֹֽא־תִשְׂא֤וּ עָלָיו֙ חֵ֔טְא בַּהֲרִֽימְכֶ֥ם אֶת־חֶלְבּ֖וֹ מִמֶּ֑נּוּ וְאֶת־קָדְשֵׁ֧י בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל לֹ֥א תְחַלְּל֖וּ וְלֹ֥א תָמֽוּתוּ׃ (פ)
E non sopporterete alcun peccato in ragione di ciò, visto che vi avete separato il meglio da esso; e non profanerete le cose sante dei figli d'Israele, che non morirete.'

Hence if [you do not]. Meaning: This verse does not come to exempt those who separate it. Because why would one assume that they were liable? Rather it comes to make one liable, and from the negative one infers the positive. Accordingly, one inevitably understands that “and you will not die” means “hence if you profane, you will die” because from the negative one infers the positive. For if not so, why would it say “and you will not die”? Why would one assume that one was liable so that a verse is needed to exempt him? Re’m.
