Szukali tedy dziewicy pięknej po całej dziedzinie izraelskiej i znaleźli Abiszagę, Sunamitkę, i przywiedli ją do króla.

Tze'enah Ure'enah

“They searched for a beautiful girl throughout the territory of Israel, etc.” [1:3]. They searched for a beautiful maiden and they found a maiden who was called Abishag the Shunamite. They brought her to King David and she served him, but the king did not want to sleep with her, expecting that she should keep him warm; she should keep her virginity.
