Powtórzonego Prawa 7:26 Komentarz: Tze'enah Ure'enah, Chizkuni, Sforno & Rabbeinu Bahya

Tze'enah Ure'enah

“You shall not bring an abhorrent thing into your house” [7:26]. From here we learn that one should not rent a house to a gentile in the land of Israel, since the gentile places his foreign god in the house. Our rabbis write that outside the land of Israel it is permitted to rent one’s house to a gentile. So writes Rabbenu Hananel and some other rabbis. However, a righteous person does not rent his house to a gentile even outside the land of Israel.6Bahya, Deuteronomy, 7:26.
