וָאֶהְיֶ֣ה עִמְּךָ֗ בְּכֹל֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָלַ֔כְתָּ וָאַכְרִ֥תָה אֶת־כָּל־אֹיְבֶ֖יךָ מִפָּנֶ֑יךָ וְעָשִׂ֤תִֽי לְךָ֙ שֵׁ֣ם גָּד֔וֹל כְּשֵׁ֥ם הַגְּדֹלִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּאָֽרֶץ׃
I byłem z tobą wszędzie gdzieś chodził, i wytępiłem wszystkich wrogów twoich przed obliczem twojem, i uczyniłem ci imię wielkie, jako imię wielkich, którzy są na ziemi.
Rashi on II Samuel
Like the name of great people. That is what is said [about Dovid] the shield of Dovid.7Pesachim 117b. The “great people” referred to here are Avrohom, Yitzhok and Yakov. Just as they are mentioned in the first blessing of the Amidah, so too Dovid’s name is used in the ending of one of the Haftorah’s concluding blessings. (Rashi, ibid).
