Królów I 8:35 Halacha: Mishneh Torah, Prayer and the Priestly Blessing

בְּהֵעָצֵ֥ר שָׁמַ֛יִם וְלֹא־יִהְיֶ֥ה מָטָ֖ר כִּ֣י יֶחֶטְאוּ־לָ֑ךְ וְהִֽתְפַּֽלְל֞וּ אֶל־הַמָּק֤וֹם הַזֶּה֙ וְהוֹד֣וּ אֶת־שְׁמֶ֔ךָ וּמֵחַטָּאתָ֥ם יְשׁוּב֖וּן כִּ֥י תַעֲנֵֽם׃

Gdyby zawartem było niebo a nie było deszczu, ponieważ zgrzeszyli przeciw Tobie, a modlili się na miejscu tem, wyznawając imię Twoje a nawracając się z grzechu swego, ponieważ upokorzyłeś ich, 

Mishneh Torah, Prayer and the Priestly Blessing

With face turned towards the Temple. Anyone outside Palestine turns his face towards the land of Israel and recites the prayer. One who is in the Holy Land turns towards Jerusalem. One who is in Jerusalem turns towards the Temple. If one is in the Temple, he turns towards the Holy of Holies. A person who is either blind, or unable to determine the right direction, or is on a ship, directs his heart to the Divine Presence and prays.
