וְיִכָּנְע֨וּ עַמִּ֜י אֲשֶׁ֧ר נִֽקְרָא־שְׁמִ֣י עֲלֵיהֶ֗ם וְיִֽתְפַּֽלְלוּ֙ וִֽיבַקְשׁ֣וּ פָנַ֔י וְיָשֻׁ֖בוּ מִדַּרְכֵיהֶ֣ם הָרָעִ֑ים וַאֲנִי֙ אֶשְׁמַ֣ע מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְאֶסְלַח֙ לְחַטָּאתָ֔ם וְאֶרְפָּ֖א אֶת־אַרְצָֽם׃
jeźli lud mój, nad którym nazwane jest imię moje, uniżą się, będą się modlić, szukać mego oblicza i odwrócić się od złych dróg; wtedy usłyszę z nieba i przebaczę ich grzech i uzdrowię ich ziemię.
Duties of the Heart
(2) He should be broken hearted and humbled before G-d due to his sins, as written "If My people, upon whom My Name is called, will humble themselves [and pray and seek My presence and repent of their evil ways, then I shall hear from heaven and forgive their sin...]" (Divrei Hayamim II 7:14).
