Królów I 2:26 Kabała: Reshit Chokhmah

Do Abjatara zaś, kapłana, rzekł król: Udasz się do Anatot, do dóbr twoich, albowiem na śmierć zasłużyłeś. Dzisiaj jednak nie stracę cię, ponieważ niosłeś arkę Pana Wiekuistego przed obliczem Dawida, ojca mojego, a przecierpiałeś wszystko co przecierpiał ojciec mój.

Reshit Chokhmah

The Explanation of the Word 'Anava' (Humility) and its Qualities: To explain humility, we refer to one who is 'Ani' (poor) and 'Inui' (tortured) in a way that he is surrendered. It is the concept of being poor and dependant [meaning, he will accept anything that comes his way]. So too (as in Parshat Shemot 10:3), "מאנת לענות מפני," from the Targaminan, "לאתכנעא." So too, this applies to a poor person and one who is fasting, as it says, "וכי התענית בכל אשר התענה אבי," and from this we can take that in all of these, the intention of them is the level of surrender.
