אליה kommt nur in diesem Zusammenhange vor, und weiß man nur aus Überlieferung, daß es das äußerste Endstück des Rumpfes, das Schwanzstück bedeutet. עצֶָה ist nach Chulin 11a das Rückgrat in der Nierengegend: מקום שהכליות יועצות; es könnte dann עצה von עוץ (Jes. 8, 10 עוצו עצה) mit angehängtem ה sein, wie צנהֶ ואלפים (Ps. 8, 8). Die Darbringung des אליה unter den אימורים ist das Charakteristische beim כבש. So z. B. חלב der niederen Reize: חלב הכליות, der Ernährung: חלב הקרב. Leider fehlt uns die physiologische Kenntnis der Bedeutung der כסלים und des אליה, um diese Vermutung auch in Beziehung auf diese Teile zu verfolgen.

nets [lit. holes.] Since the suffix is irregular, ordinarily חוֹרִים Rashi enumerates similar instances e.g.,] (Psalms 8:5) “The beasts of the field (שָׂדָי)”; (Jer. 22:14) “And he will cut out for himself windows (חַלּוֹנָי).”

Yesochar's nobles. The "י" in שׇׂרַי [lit. "my" nobles] is ancillary, fulfilling no grammatic function. It is similar to the "י" in "the animals in the field,"31Tehilim, 8:8. שׇׂדַי, lit. “my” field, is translated as שׇׂדֶה, “the field.” or "he cut open, for himself, a window."32Yermiyahu, 22:14. חַלּוֹנַי, lit. “my windows,” is translated as חַלּוֹן, “the window.”

לצנאכם FOR YOUR SHEEP — This word is from the noun form which is found in (Psalms 8:8): “Sheep (צנה) and oxen, all of them”, where, too, there is no א intervening between the נ and the צ. The א which here comes after the נ is in place of the ה of צנה (and לצנאכם is not the same form as לצאנכם with an inversion of the א and נ). I learned this from the work of R. Moses the Preacher.
