וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יוֹאָ֗ב יוֹסֵף֩ יְהוָ֨ה עַל־עַמּ֤וֹ ׀ כָּהֵם֙ מֵאָ֣ה פְעָמִ֔ים הֲלֹא֙ אֲדֹנִ֣י הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ כֻּלָּ֥ם לַאדֹנִ֖י לַעֲבָדִ֑ים לָ֣מָּה יְבַקֵּ֥שׁ זֹאת֙ אֲדֹנִ֔י לָ֛מָּה יִהְיֶ֥ה לְאַשְׁמָ֖ה לְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
I Joab powiedział: 'Pan czyni Swój lud sto razy więcej, niż jest; ale, panie mój, królu, czyż nie wszyscy są moim panem'sługi? dlaczego mój pan potrzebuje tego? dlaczego stanie się przyczyną winy Izraela?'

Yoav said to the king, "Adonoy your God should add to the people one hundred times their [current] number, and may my master the king's eyes see it. [But] my master the king, why do you want such a thing?"
