И они легко исцелили боль дочери Моего народа, говоря: 'Мир, мир'когда нет покоя.

The zealotry of the Maccabees built the Temple. The zealotry of Zechariah ben Avkolas — who did not want to offer a sacrifice for the welfare of the Caesar — destroyed it (Gittin 56a). And in a different time period, a true prophet, Jeremiah preached what appeared to be treason to the people, to submit to the hands of the Chaldeans and not to fight. This is something frightful and terrible. All of the people are fighting; they are all going out with great patriotism. Then the prophet comes and says, "Give up." On the other side, the false prophets are the prophets of all is well, all is well, when nothing is well (Jeremiah 6:14; 8:11). All of this is because the will of God reveals itself in history in different ways and in disparate fashion. The Jewish people are not stuck with one exclusive approach, the approach of peace or of war, the approach of isolation or of [cooperation]. Our desire is only to do the will of our Maker. And that is revealed as He wants; in different ways and disparate fashion. And we can only rely upon our Father in the Heavens. It is only the will of God that gives either [cooperation] or isolation its meaning, its content and its true stature.
