Shemonah Kevatzim

From the beginning of the early ones of the earth, from the mountain tops (alluding to Numbers 23:9), from the fathers of the world flows a heritage of free service to God — to reveal the heart in holiness, to seal a holy seal upon the thoughts of the heart, in every matter, in every way of life, in every type of time and throughout all changing events. The optional epiphany, the voluntary service rises up in a free flow; it raises up the strength of the soul and all of its powers. It stands at the peak of its height in its free world so long as it does not come to development and structure, to the fortification of a people, and to the ordering of the planning of an organized nation — it acts and is acted upon in a set historical plan. [Yet,] with all of its constriction, the organized global plan is a higher stage of development in its inner form than the poetic radiance of the optional event, even with all of the breadth of its expansion. There is, however, a time when the higher form will be caught in the trap of its limitations to the point of depressing the spirit. It is then that the light of the forefathers will light up. "Remember the covenant of the forefathers for the children," and the optional flame of the voluntary service will break through the limitations, refresh the spirit, lighten up its endeavors, succor the dryness of the exactitudes, and invigorate the fire of life within them. There are some for which the flame will come like a stream of breaches, and the outer and inner breaches will meet one another. And there are others for whom the rocks upon which life depends will blur from the horror of the feelings that the spirit will bring up in the breaking of its frameworks. But after its seal is opened, its light will appear from outside, and it will take form in vessels that are from different vessels (alluding to Esther 1:7). The ruins will be rebuilt, and a new building full of the old in the apex of its glory will arise. A king may breach a fence to forge a path (alluding to Sanhedrin 2:4, with the king in this context being God). Fence my breach [peretz] with the son of Peretz [the messiah] and strengthen the lily that has been plucked (alluding to Song of Songs 6:2). Sometimes the trait of breaching will grow to the point of going outside, to the point of falling to devastation. But even the pit and the devastation is before God, and He is the one who brings down to the pit and makes to rise up (alluding to I Samuel 2:6) — that is the congregation of Korach who will rise in the future. And all who fell from a surplus of passion will rise up in the future, and those are the majority of the defiant ones [ma'apilim], who died in their sin. And at the end of the day, it was stated about all of them: Gather My pious ones together to Me; those that have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice (Psalms 50:5). And in the order of life, that jump which came for destruction in ancient times will come for its purpose in later times in a more limited and more refined form. And even if the contents are not yet sweetened in the second version, it still has a threesome within it. And the word is commanded for a thousand generations (alluding to Psalms 105:8), and the planting shall return to its root and be replanted. And they shall be rebuilt with My people, and they shall be satiated with the life of God in righteousness and in justice. And the distant ones shall come and take part in the building of the Temple of the Lord (Zechariah 6:15). And I will also take from them for priests, for Levites," said the Lord (Isaiah 66:21).
