וְאֶת־בְּנֵ֥י הַמַּכִּ֖ים לֹ֣א הֵמִ֑ית כַּכָּת֣וּב בְּסֵ֣פֶר תּֽוֹרַת־מֹ֠שֶׁה אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֨ה יְהוָ֜ה לֵאמֹ֗ר לֹא־יוּמְת֨וּ אָב֤וֹת עַל־בָּנִים֙ וּבָנִים֙ לֹא־יוּמְת֣וּ עַל־אָב֔וֹת כִּ֛י אִם־אִ֥ישׁ בְּחֶטְא֖וֹ ימות [יוּמָֽת׃]
но детей убийц он предал не смерти; согласно тому, что написано в книге закона Моисея, как повелел Господь, говоря:'Отцы не должны быть преданы смерти за детей, и дети не должны быть преданы смерти за отцов; но каждый человек будет предан смерти за свой грех.'
II Chronicles
But their sons he did not put to death, as it is written in the Torah of Moses that the L rd commanded, saying [Deuteronomy 24:16]: "Fathers shall not be put to death because of the sons, and sons shall not be put to death because of the fathers, but each man shall be put to death for his (own) sin."
