וַיָּבֹא־גָ֥ד אֶל־דָּוִ֖ד וַיַּגֶּד־ל֑וֹ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ל֡וֹ הֲתָב֣וֹא לְךָ֣ שֶֽׁבַע שָׁנִ֣ים ׀ רָעָ֣ב ׀ בְּאַרְצֶ֡ךָ אִם־שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה חֳ֠דָשִׁים נֻסְךָ֨ לִפְנֵֽי־צָרֶ֜יךָ וְה֣וּא רֹדְפֶ֗ךָ וְאִם־הֱ֠יוֹת שְׁלֹ֨שֶׁת יָמִ֥ים דֶּ֙בֶר֙ בְּאַרְצֶ֔ךָ עַתָּה֙ דַּ֣ע וּרְאֵ֔ה מָה־אָשִׁ֥יב שֹׁלְחִ֖י דָּבָֽר׃ (ס)
И пришел Гад к Давиду, сказал ему и сказал ему: 'Семь лет голода придут к тебе на землю твою? или ты убежишь за три месяца до врагов твоих, пока они преследуют тебя? или будет три дня'мор на земле твоей? теперь посоветуй тебе и обдумай, какой ответ Я верну Тому, Кто послал Меня.'

And Gad came to David and said to him: Thus has the L-rd said; take it upon you:

Either three years of famine, or three months in which you perish at the hand of your foes, the sword of your foes overtaking (you), or three days of the sword of the L-rd, pestilence in the land, and the angel of the L-rd destroying in all the border of Israel. And now, see, what answer shall I return to my Sender?
