Komentaryo sa Mga Bilang 15:35: Rashi, Siftei Chakhamim & Rav Hirsch

Rashi

רגום expresses the idea of “doing” something (that is, it is an infinitive or verbal noun); in O. F. faisant; (English = doing). Similarly הלוך allant, “going“, and so, too, זכור “remembering”, שמור “keeping”.

Siftei Chakhamim

Similarly “constantly remember” and “constantly keep.” Meaning that this is in the present tense, even though it was not to be done constantly, only at that time when he desecrated Shabbos. Since it refers to anyone who would ever gather, and thus desecrate Shabbos, the present tense is appropriate; for it would always be incumbent upon them to execute by stoning anyone who transgressed this prohibition.

Hier war nur das bereits ausgesprochene מות יומת zu erläutern, daher .ויאמר ד׳ וגו׳
