At Kanyang sinabi: “Pakinggan nga ninyo ang Aking mga salita: Kung mayroon kayong propeta, Ako, ang Walang-Hanggan, ay nagpapakilala sa kanya sa pamamagitan ng pangitain, at sa panaginip Ako nakikipag-usap sa kanya.

(Deuteronomy 31:18) "And I will surely hide my face in that day." Rava said, The Holy One, blessed be He, said, Even if I hide My face from them, I will speak by a dream. R. Yosef said, His hand is stretched out over us, as it is said, (Isaiah 51:16) "And I have covered you in the shadow of My hand."

When Samuel had a bad dream, he used to say, "The dreams speak falsely" (Zech. x. 2) ; but when he had a good dream, he used to say, "Do the dreams speak falsely? For lo, it is written, 'I [God] do speak with him in a dream' (Num. xii. 6)."
