וַיִּֽחַר־אַ֤ף יְהוָה֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַֽיִּתְּנֵם֙ בְּיַד־שֹׁסִ֔ים וַיָּשֹׁ֖סּוּ אוֹתָ֑ם וַֽיִּמְכְּרֵ֞ם בְּיַ֤ד אֽוֹיְבֵיהֶם֙ מִסָּבִ֔יב וְלֹֽא־יָכְל֣וּ ע֔וֹד לַעֲמֹ֖ד לִפְנֵ֥י אוֹיְבֵיהֶֽם׃
Nag-alab ang galit ng Walang-Hanggan laban sa Israel, at ibinigay Niya sila sa kamay ng mga mandarambong, at dinambong sila ng mga ito; at ipinaubaya Niya sila sa kamay ng kanilang mga kaaway sa palibot, at hindi na sila makatayo sa harap ng kanilang mga kaaway.

And this was the custom of yore in Israel for redemption [(sale)] and for exchange [(substitution [chalifin])] to establish every thing: a man [(as a sign of acquisition)] would remove his shoe and give it to his neighbor. And this [became] the [manner of] attestation in Israel.
