אִישׁ֩ כִּֽי־יִדֹּ֨ר נֶ֜דֶר לַֽיהוָ֗ה אֽוֹ־הִשָּׁ֤בַע שְׁבֻעָה֙ לֶאְסֹ֤ר אִסָּר֙ עַל־נַפְשׁ֔וֹ לֹ֥א יַחֵ֖ל דְּבָר֑וֹ כְּכָל־הַיֹּצֵ֥א מִפִּ֖יו יַעֲשֶֽׂה׃
Kapag ang isang lalaki ay nanata ng isang panata sa Walang-Hanggan, o sumumpa ng isang sumpa upang magbawal ng isang pagbabawal sa kanyang sarili, hindi niya dapat lapastanganin ang kanyang salita; ayon sa lahat ng lumabas sa kanyang bibig ay gagawin niya.
Onkelos Numbers
Any man who vows a vow before God, or oaths an oath to prohibit a prohibition on himself, he cannot void his word; anything that his mouth utters he shall do.
Targum Jonathan
A man, a son of thirteen when he shall have vowed a vow before the Lord, or have sworn an oath, saying, I will withhold from such a thing which is permitted to me, shall not be allowed to relax his word (at his own will): nevertheless, the house of judgment (beth dina) can absolve him; but if they absolve him not, whatsoever hath gone out of his mouth he shall perform.
