וַתָּבֹ֤א בַת־שֶׁ֙בַע֙ אֶל־הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה לְדַבֶּר־ל֖וֹ עַל־אֲדֹנִיָּ֑הוּ וַיָּקָם֩ הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ לִקְרָאתָ֜הּ וַיִּשְׁתַּ֣חוּ לָ֗הּ וַיֵּ֙שֶׁב֙ עַל־כִּסְא֔וֹ וַיָּ֤שֶׂם כִּסֵּא֙ לְאֵ֣ם הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וַתֵּ֖שֶׁב לִֽימִינֽוֹ׃

און בת-שֶבֿע איז געקומען צום מלך שלמה, צו רעדן צו אים פֿון אַדוֹנִיָהוּס װעגן, און דער מלך איז אױפֿגעשטאַנען איר אַנטקעגן, און ער האָט זיך צו איר געבוקט, און האָט זיך געזעצט אױף זײַן טראָן, און געשטעלט אַ טראָן פֿאַר דעם מלכס מוטער, און זי האָט זיך געזעצט אױף זײַן רעכטער זײַט.

For the mother of the king. Our Rabbis said [this refers] to Rus the matriarch of kingship.12See Maseches Bava Basra 91b and Rashi there. Rus was the great great grandmother of Shlomo who was still alive when Shlomo ascended the throne.
