בְּתִשְׁעָ֣ה לַחֹ֔דֶשׁ וַיֶּחֱזַ֥ק הָרָעָ֖ב בָּעִ֑יר וְלֹא־הָ֥יָה לֶ֖חֶם לְעַ֥ם הָאָֽרֶץ׃
אין נײַנטן טאָג פֿון [פֿירטן] חודש האָט זיך געשטאַרקט דער הונגער אין שטאָט, און עס איז ניט געװען קײן ברױט פֿאַר דעם פֿאָלק פֿון לאַנד.

On the ninth day of the [fourth] month the famine was sore in the city: It is not explained in which month, however in the book of Jeremiah it is explained that this was the fourth month on the ninth of the month. (Jeremiah 39:2)
