קבלה אויף במדבר 3:4

וַיָּ֣מָת נָדָ֣ב וַאֲבִיה֣וּא לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֡ה בְּֽהַקְרִבָם֩ אֵ֨שׁ זָרָ֜ה לִפְנֵ֤י יְהוָה֙ בְּמִדְבַּ֣ר סִינַ֔י וּבָנִ֖ים לֹא־הָי֣וּ לָהֶ֑ם וַיְכַהֵ֤ן אֶלְעָזָר֙ וְאִ֣יתָמָ֔ר עַל־פְּנֵ֖י אַהֲרֹ֥ן אֲבִיהֶֽם׃ (פ)

און נָדָבֿ און אַבֿיהוא זײַנען געשטאָרבן פֿאַר גאָט װען זײ האָבן געבראַכט פֿרעמד פֿײַער פֿאַר גאָט, אין מדבר סינַי, און קײן קינדער האָבן זײ ניט געהאַט; און אֶלעָזָר און איתָמָר זײַנען געװאָרן כֹּהנים לעבן זײער פֿאָטער אַהרֹנען.

Zohar

Another interpretation is as follows. R. Jose said: ‘Why does the text say, “after the death of the two sons of Aaron”, and not “after the death of Nadab and Abihu”, since we know they were his sons? The reason is to show that they had not yet emerged from the guardianship of their father, but they thrust themselves forward in his lifetime.’
