רַק֮ לֹא־יַרְבֶּה־לּ֣וֹ סוּסִים֒ וְלֹֽא־יָשִׁ֤יב אֶת־הָעָם֙ מִצְרַ֔יְמָה לְמַ֖עַן הַרְבּ֣וֹת ס֑וּס וַֽיהוָה֙ אָמַ֣ר לָכֶ֔ם לֹ֣א תֹסִפ֗וּן לָשׁ֛וּב בַּדֶּ֥רֶךְ הַזֶּ֖ה עֽוֹד׃
אָבער ער זאָל זיך ניט מערן פֿערד, און ניט אומקערן דאָס פֿאָלק קײן מִצרַיִם, כּדי צו מערן פֿערד; װאָס גאָט האָט אײַך אָנגעזאָגט: איר זאָלט זיך מער ניט אומקערן אױף דעם דאָזיקן װעג.
Mishnah Sanhedrin
None may ride his horse and none may sit on his throne and none may make use of his scepter. No one may see him when his hair is being cut or when he is naked or when he is in the bath house, for it says, “You shall set a king upon yourself” (Deut. 17:15) that his awe should be over you.
