וַיַּמְר֨וּ וַֽיִּמְרְד֜וּ בָּ֗ךְ וַיַּשְׁלִ֤כוּ אֶת־תּוֹרָֽתְךָ֙ אַחֲרֵ֣י גַוָּ֔ם וְאֶת־נְבִיאֶ֣יךָ הָרָ֔גוּ אֲשֶׁר־הֵעִ֥ידוּ בָ֖ם לַהֲשִׁיבָ֣ם אֵלֶ֑יךָ וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֔וּ נֶאָצ֖וֹת גְּדוֹלֹֽת׃
און זײ האָבן װידערשפּעניקט און זיך געשטעלט אַקעגן דיר, און זײ האָבן אַװעקגעװאָרפֿן דײַן תּוֹרה הינטער זײער רוקן, און האָבן געהרגעט דײַנע נבֿיאים װאָס האָבן זײ געװאָרנט, כּדי זײ אומצוקערן צו דיר, און זײ האָבן באַגאַנגען גרױסע לעסטערונגען.

And the spirit of G d clothed Zecharyah the son of Yehoyada the priest and he stood above the people and said to them: Thus says G d: Why would you transgress the mitzvoth of the L rd and not prosper? For you have forsaken the L rd, and He has forsaken you.

And they banded against him and stoned him by the king's command in the court of the house of the L rd.
