וַאֲנִ֞י הִנֵּ֧ה לָקַ֣חְתִּי אֶת־הַלְוִיִּ֗ם מִתּוֹךְ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל תַּ֧חַת כָּל־בְּכ֛וֹר פֶּ֥טֶר רֶ֖חֶם מִבְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְהָ֥יוּ לִ֖י הַלְוִיִּֽם׃
און איך, זע, האָב גענומען די לוִיִים פֿון צװישן די קינדער פֿון ישׂראל אָנשטאָט איטלעכן בכָור װאָס עפֿנט דעם טראַכט צװישן די קינדער פֿון ישׂראל; און די לוִיִים זאָלן געהערן צו מיר.
Targum Jonathan
And I, behold, I have brought nigh the Levites from among the sons of Israel, instead of all the first-born who open the womb among the sons of Israel; and the Levites shall minister before Me.
Tafsir Rasag
"For I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of every firstborn who opens the womb among the children of Israel. Therefore the Levites shall be Mine.
