וְאַ֨ךְ אֶת־דִּמְכֶ֤ם לְנַפְשֹֽׁתֵיכֶם֙ אֶדְרֹ֔שׁ מִיַּ֥ד כָּל־חַיָּ֖ה אֶדְרְשֶׁ֑נּוּ וּמִיַּ֣ד הָֽאָדָ֗ם מִיַּד֙ אִ֣ישׁ אָחִ֔יו אֶדְרֹ֖שׁ אֶת־נֶ֥פֶשׁ הָֽאָדָֽם׃
און פֿאַר װאָר, אײַער בלוט, פֿון אײַערע נפֿשות, װעל איך אױפֿמאָנען; פֿון דער האַנט פֿון איטלעכער חיה װעל איך עס אױפֿמאָנען, און פֿון דער האַנט פֿון דעם מענטשן, פֿון דער האַנט פֿון דעם מענטשן זײַן ברודער, װעל איך אױפֿמאָנען דאָס לעבן פֿון אַ מענטשן.
Targum Jonathan
But the blood of your lives I will I require of every animal which hath killed a man, I will require that it be put to death on his account. And from the hand of the human being, from the hand of the man who hath shed the blood of his brother, will I require the life of man.
