לֹ֣א מֵֽרֻבְּכֶ֞ם מִכָּל־הָֽעַמִּ֗ים חָשַׁ֧ק יְהוָ֛ה בָּכֶ֖ם וַיִּבְחַ֣ר בָּכֶ֑ם כִּֽי־אַתֶּ֥ם הַמְעַ֖ט מִכָּל־הָעַמִּֽים׃
ניט װײַל איר זײַט מער פֿון אַלע פֿעלקער, האָט גאָט געגלוסט צו אײַך און אײַך אױסדערװײלט; װאָרום איר זײַט דאָס װינציקסטע פֿון אַלע פֿעלקער.
Targum Jonathan
Not because you were more excellent than all other peoples hath the Lord had pleasure in you and chosen you, but because you were poor in spirit, and more humble than all the nations.
