וְרָבְצוּ־שָׁ֣ם צִיִּ֔ים וּמָלְא֥וּ בָתֵּיהֶ֖ם אֹחִ֑ים וְשָׁ֤כְנוּ שָׁם֙ בְּנ֣וֹת יַֽעֲנָ֔ה וּשְׂעִירִ֖ים יְרַקְּדוּ־שָֽׁם׃

Aber es werden dort Steppentiere lagern, und ihre Häuser werden voll von Eulen; Strauße werden dort hausen und Teufel daselbst hüpfen,

E. explains שעירים according to the context by שֵׁדִים imaginary beings similar to wild goats, worshipped by superstitious peoples; but here, being mentioned together with wild beasts, it is explained by beasts in the form of Shedim (כדמות שדים). wild goats.23A.
