Kommentar zu Jeschijahu 45:10

Woe to him who says to a father, “What do you beget?” He thinks that he has more pity on the son than his father. Another explanation is: Woe is the son who says to his father, “Why have you begotten?” He is analogous to the one who contends with his Creator.

He that saith to his father, etc. Or can the son before his birth say to his father, What wilt thou beget,¹³A. V., What begettest thou. What hast thou brought forth.¹³A. V., What begettest thou. What hast thou brought forth. or to the woman, that is, to his mother, what wilt thou bring forth? תחילין Thou will bring forth. Comp. כי חלה נם ילדה ציון Zion travailed, she brought forth (66:8)
