מַדּ֨וּעַ בָּ֜אתִי וְאֵ֣ין אִ֗ישׁ קָרָֽאתִי֮ וְאֵ֣ין עוֹנֶה֒ הֲקָצ֨וֹר קָצְרָ֤ה יָדִי֙ מִפְּד֔וּת וְאִם־אֵֽין־בִּ֥י כֹ֖חַ לְהַצִּ֑יל הֵ֣ן בְּגַעֲרָתִ֞י אַחֲרִ֣יב יָ֗ם אָשִׂ֤ים נְהָרוֹת֙ מִדְבָּ֔ר תִּבְאַ֤שׁ דְּגָתָם֙ מֵאֵ֣ין מַ֔יִם וְתָמֹ֖ת בַּצָּמָֽא׃
Warum kam ich und fand keinen? ich rief und niemand antwortete? Reicht mein Arm nicht, euch zu erlösen, oder ist in mir keine Kraft zum Retten? Durch mein Dräuen trockne ich das Meer aus, wandle Ströme zur Wüste, es faulen ihre Fische aus Wassermangel und sterben im Durste.
