וְהָאֹרֵ֣ב הֵחִ֔ישׁוּ וַֽיִּפְשְׁט֖וּ אֶל־הַגִּבְעָ֑ה וַיִּמְשֹׁךְ֙ הָאֹרֵ֔ב וַיַּ֥ךְ אֶת־כָּל־הָעִ֖יר לְפִי־חָֽרֶב׃
Der Hinterhalt aber eilte und breitete sich aus gegen Gibea hin; der Hinterhalt zog hin und schlug die ganze Stadt mit der Schärfe des Schwertes.

The ambushers sounded the signal. The shofar blast. Another interpretation: With the shofar, they drew the people with them to the city.
