Die Türe des Seitengemachs des mittleren [Ganges] war an der rechten Seite des Hauses, und auf Wendeltreppen stieg man zu dem mittleren und von dem mittleren zu dem dritten.
The Third Beit HaMikdash
Remember that Radak and Rav Yitzchak Abarbanel interpreted the term 95Yechezkel 41:7.וְנָסְבָה as referring to the winding stairwell.96See I Melachim 6:8: “They went up with winding stairs to the middle chamber, and from the middle chamber to the third.” True, Rashi did not, instead saying that it refers to the steps leading from the lower level to the middle level and the upper level. Nevertheless, we can accept Rashi’s interpretation in one place and that of Radak in another.
