בְּבֹאָ֞ם אֶל־אֹ֧הֶל מוֹעֵ֛ד יִרְחֲצוּ־מַ֖יִם וְלֹ֣א יָמֻ֑תוּ א֣וֹ בְגִשְׁתָּ֤ם אֶל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ לְשָׁרֵ֔ת לְהַקְטִ֥יר אִשֶּׁ֖ה לַֽיהוָֽה׃
Wenn sie hineingehen in das Stiftszelt, sollen sie sich mit Wasser waschen, dass sie nicht sterben; oder wenn sie nahen dem Altar zum Dienst, in Rauch aufgehen zu lassen Feueropfer dem Herrn.
Zohar
That boy opened and said: "When they come to the Tent of Meeting, they shall wash with water and they will not die, and so on" (Exodus 30:20). We learn from this verse, that one who does not concern oneself with this, and appears before the king with filthy hands, is liable for death. What is the reason? Because the hands of a person sit at the height of the world. There is one finger on the hand of a person, and that is the finger that Moses lifted.
