וַיֹּ֗אמֶר אַסְתִּ֤ירָה פָנַי֙ מֵהֶ֔ם אֶרְאֶ֖ה מָ֣ה אַחֲרִיתָ֑ם כִּ֣י ד֤וֹר תַּהְפֻּכֹת֙ הֵ֔מָּה בָּנִ֖ים לֹא־אֵמֻ֥ן בָּֽם׃
Und er sagte: 'Ich werde mein Gesicht vor ihnen verbergen, ich werde sehen, was ihr Ende sein wird; Denn sie sind eine sehr froward Generation, Kinder, in denen keine Treue ist.

If their iniquities are grievous and too many to count, [then] by virtue of every fitting attribute cast them away, Adonoy, and conceal them; let our vigorous words of supplication annul that which is written: “I will hide [my face from them].”3Deut. 32:20.
