Just as a burnt-offering is entirely burnt by the (altar) fire, so, this. Just as with a burnt-offering, he stands on the side of the altar and flings (the blood beneath the red line), here, too. Just as with a burnt-offering, if limbs are jetted from the altar (to the ground), they are returned to the wood pile, here, too.
