לָ֧מָּה נָמ֣וּת לְעֵינֶ֗יךָ גַּם־אֲנַ֙חְנוּ֙ גַּ֣ם אַדְמָתֵ֔נוּ קְנֵֽה־אֹתָ֥נוּ וְאֶת־אַדְמָתֵ֖נוּ בַּלָּ֑חֶם וְנִֽהְיֶ֞ה אֲנַ֤חְנוּ וְאַדְמָתֵ֙נוּ֙ עֲבָדִ֣ים לְפַרְעֹ֔ה וְתֶן־זֶ֗רַע וְנִֽחְיֶה֙ וְלֹ֣א נָמ֔וּת וְהָאֲדָמָ֖ה לֹ֥א תֵשָֽׁם׃
Warum sollen wir vor deinen Augen zu Grunde gehen, wir und unser Ackerland? Kaufe uns und unser Ackerland für Brot; so wollen wir und unser Ackerland dem Pharao untertan sein. Nur gib uns Saatkorn, dass wir am Leben bleiben und nicht sterben, und das Ackerland nicht wüst daliege.
