Musar zu Wajikra 19:28
וְשֶׂ֣רֶט לָנֶ֗פֶשׁ לֹ֤א תִתְּנוּ֙ בִּבְשַׂרְכֶ֔ם וּכְתֹ֣בֶת קַֽעֲקַ֔ע לֹ֥א תִתְּנ֖וּ בָּכֶ֑ם אֲנִ֖י יְהוָֽה׃
Und Einschnitte um einen Toten sollt ihr nicht machen an eurem Leib, und Ätzschrift sollt ihr an euch nicht machen. Ich bin der Herr.
Shenei Luchot HaBerit
וכתובת קעקע . "Do not tattoo your skin." This is an allusion to pagan priests who tattoo themselves as a sign of fealty to their respective deities.
