וַנֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־אֲדֹנִ֔י יֶשׁ־לָ֙נוּ֙ אָ֣ב זָקֵ֔ן וְיֶ֥לֶד זְקֻנִ֖ים קָטָ֑ן וְאָחִ֨יו מֵ֜ת וַיִּוָּתֵ֨ר ה֧וּא לְבַדּ֛וֹ לְאִמּ֖וֹ וְאָבִ֥יו אֲהֵבֽוֹ׃
Da antworteten wir dem Herrn: Wir haben noch einen Vater, er ist alt, und auch ein kleiner, spätgeborener Sohn ist da, sein Bruder ist tot, er allein ist von seiner Mutter übrig, und sein Vater hat ihn lieb.

Though the pigeon offerings have ceased,1The literal translation of the word רֶבַע is a quarter. In the time of the Temple a poor man was permitted to bring doves or young pigeons which were worth a quarter of a dinar for his offerings. though the tent of His dwelling is now empty, we need not lose hope for we have the merit of our old father.2Abraham.
