וַתַּעֲלֶ֤ה הַמִּלְחָמָה֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא וְהַמֶּ֗לֶךְ הָיָ֧ה מָעֳמָ֛ד בַּמֶּרְכָּבָ֖ה נֹ֣כַח אֲרָ֑ם וַיָּ֣מָת בָּעֶ֔רֶב וַיִּ֥צֶק דַּֽם־הַמַּכָּ֖ה אֶל־חֵ֥יק הָרָֽכֶב׃
An jenem Tage wurde die Schlacht unterbrochen. Der König wurde zwar noch stehend in dem Wagen erhalten dem Lager Aram gegenüber; er starb aber am Abend, und das Blut der Wunde floß in die Vertiefung des Wagens.
II Chronicles
And the [intensity of the] war mounted on that day, and the king forced himself to stand in the chariot against Aram [(lest his army flee)], until the evening, and he died at the setting of the sun.
