וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲרַ֔וְנָה מַדּ֛וּעַ בָּ֥א אֲדֹנִֽי־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ אֶל־עַבְדּ֑וֹ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜ד לִקְנ֧וֹת מֵעִמְּךָ֣ אֶת־הַגֹּ֗רֶן לִבְנ֤וֹת מִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה וְתֵעָצַ֥ר הַמַּגֵּפָ֖ה מֵעַ֥ל הָעָֽם׃
Arawna fragte: Weswegen kommt mein Herr, der König, zu seinem Knecht. David erwiderte: Um von dir die Tenne zu kaufen, da einen Altar dem Herrn zu bauen, dass das Sterben von dem Volke abgewehrt werde.
I Chronicles
And David said to Arnan: Give me the place of the threshing floor, and I will build in it an altar to the L-rd. Give it to me for its full price, and the plague will cease from the people.
