וַיִּבֶן֩ שָׁ֨ם דָּוִ֤ד מִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה וַיַּ֥עַל עֹל֖וֹת וּשְׁלָמִ֑ים וַיֵּעָתֵ֤ר יְהוָה֙ לָאָ֔רֶץ וַתֵּעָצַ֥ר הַמַּגֵּפָ֖ה מֵעַ֥ל יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Und David baute daselbst einen Altar dem Herrn und brachte Ganzopfer und Mahlopfer dar. Der Herr ließ sich erbitten für das Land, und das Sterben wurde abgewehrt von Israel.

And David built there an altar to the L-rd, and he offered up burnt-offerings and peace-offerings. And he called to the L-rd, and He answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of the burnt-offering.
