לִהְיוֹת֩ עֵינֶ֨ךָ פְתֻח֜וֹת אֶל־הַבַּ֤יִת הַזֶּה֙ לַ֣יְלָה וָי֔וֹם אֶל־הַ֨מָּק֔וֹם אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָמַ֔רְתָּ יִהְיֶ֥ה שְׁמִ֖י שָׁ֑ם לִשְׁמֹ֙עַ֙ אֶל־הַתְּפִלָּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִתְפַּלֵּ֣ל עַבְדְּךָ֔ אֶל־הַמָּק֖וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃
Dass deine Augen offen seien über diesem Hause Tag und Nacht, über dem Orte, wovon du gesprochen: Mein Name soll dort sein, dass du hörest auf das Gebet, welches dein Knecht betet an diesem Orte.

There is a teaching : Abba Benjamin said : A man's prayer is only heard [by God] when offered in a Synagogue ; as it is said, "To hearken unto the song and to the prayer" (I Kings viii. 28) — where there is song, let there be prayer.
