וַֽיִּכְרְתוּ֙ אֶת־רֹאשׁ֔וֹ וַיַּפְשִׁ֖יטוּ אֶת־כֵּלָ֑יו וַיְשַׁלְּח֨וּ בְאֶֽרֶץ־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֜ים סָבִ֗יב לְבַשֵּׂ֛ר בֵּ֥ית עֲצַבֵּיהֶ֖ם וְאֶת־הָעָֽם׃
Sie schnitten ihm den Kopf ab, zogen ihm seine Rüstung aus und schickten im Lande der Philister herum, die Botschaft zu verkünden in ihrem Götzenhause und dem Volke.

They arose early the next morning and again Dagon had fallen upon its face to the ground, before the Ark of Adonoy. Dagon's head and the two palms of its hands were severed and, lying on the threshold, only Dagon's body remained intact near [the Ark].
